This SUPERMARINE SWORDFISH 36 GRAND TOURER can only be described as an absolute stunner. She glistens in the sun and is a true head-turner wherever she goes – and she does it in style. Its offshore racing pedigree, the Swordfish is a fast, sea-sure cruiser with an impeccable bloodline. As with all Alan Burnard designs it is this vessel’s ability to deal with heavy seas that really sets her apart giving her occupants a comfortable ride in the most demanding of circumstances.

We have known FLAMBOYANT from the start, and her present owner has attended to her needs diligently, with a major engine refit 2018. She has new paint, and her running gear has been checked and upgraded/renewed as required. Her refit was undertaken under the supervision of a noted Marine Surveyor.

The refit also included a new fire suppression kit, full new navigation aids suite, new covers, Coppercoat antifouling, re-worked bilge pumping, removal and cleaning of tanks, new batteries, new throttle cables and proportional bow & stern thrusters.

Her clean, modern interior offers sheer luxury for owner and guests alike and her powerful Yanmar diesels give her excellent performance.

ACCOMMODATION

The forward cabin is entered via a sliding plexiglass door and down three steps. From forward a double bed with padded headboard is placed diagonally with its head to port and its foot to starboard. A deep locker below accesses the motor of the new bow thruster. Aft of the bed a large C-shaped settee on the starboard side takes up the remainder of the cabin. This has stowage under and a fold-out teak dining table in front. Set into the after bulkhead is a clock and barometer, Navtex and CD player with concealed stacker.

Aft on the port side is the softly curved all electric galley with its microwave oven and grill, a refrigerator and a stainless steel sink with mixer tap. A top loading cover in the worktop accesses a rubbish locker whilst underneath the main unit are cupboards for crockery and food storage and a useful drawer. Outboard under the side deck alongside the microwave is the vessels' electrics panel.

Set in the middle of the cabin roof is a stainless steel escape/ventilation hatch with privacy blind which, together with the long slim side windows let in plenty of natural light enhancing the feeling of spaciousness. The floor is laid with teak and holly panels as are the steps up to the cockpit.

Aft of the galley is the curved door into the toilet compartment. Inside an electric WC., complete with shower seat on top, is mounted on a plinth outboard under the side deck Three lockers above are ideal for towels, toiletries and smellies. On the after bulkhead a moulded GRP vanity unit with wash basin, toiletries locker and mixer tap with shower attachment is fitted with a mirror above. Set in the floor is a teak shower grating and on the inside of the main door a teak framed mirror has been installed.

The open central cockpit has the helm position to port and comprises of a double bench seat set in front of a comprehensive engine instrument display with the updated navigation aids integrated alongside in a new panel. A raised teak grating allows the helmsman to easily see over the windscreen (replaced) when standing. To starboard is a matching double bench seat with teak floor grating and in the portside coaming is an electrics' panel alongside the helmsman. (There are two separate drivers seats available if needed.) A chart area is placed in front of the navigation seat to starboard and visibility is superb through the (new 2018) curved windscreen. The cockpit can be enclosed by a sprayhood when required, or left open for sunny motoring. The forward facing GRP radar arch acts as a landing for the sprayhood and backdrop, radar scanner, navigation lights and aerials and has night lights and speakers built-in. L-shaped settees are placed on either side of the cockpit and across the bulkhead of the aft cabin. Large stowage lockers are located under these seats and removable panels can be placed in front of the aft cabin door for additional seating. Up to 10 guests can comfortably be seated here. Solid teak adorns the cockpit floor hatches and the central engine hatch lifts electrically.

The aft cabin is entered by sliding back a plexiglass door and dropping down two steps. These steps lift out to access the aft end of the engine room. Immediately inside and to starboard is a dressing table against the forward bulkhead with a built-in storage locker, CD/radio and three overhead lockers fitted. A seat is placed alongside and a side window above. A large double bed runs across the transom with access panels to the steering gear outboard. A hanging clothes locker is placed on the port side forward of the bed and ahead of this is the en-suite toilet compartment. In the roof is a large ventilation hatch with privacy blind, and all headlinings are new.

This compartment has an electric WC mounted outboard on a plinth under the side deck with a shower seat on top, a moulded vanity unit against the forward bulkhead with wash basin, mixer tap/shower head and two overhead toiletries lockers. A shaving mirror hinges out from the inner bulkhead next to the wash basin. A teak grating is placed in the floor.

The side decks are very wide, are laid to teak and not only look superb but give excellent grip wet or dry. The stainless steel pulpit rail runs aft as far as the windscreen and stainless steel handrails are fitted to both cabin roofs. An anchor locker is located in the foredeck and inside is the electric anchor winch and anchor chain/warp. The mooring cleats are highly polished stainless steel. At the stern the aft cabin has a teak laid roof and stainless steel ladder with rungs drop down to the bathing platform.
