SWORDFISH 36 SPECIFICATION

My first season was 1975, including the first of the 10 Cowes Torquay Cowes races I competed in. With my friend Roger Kelly we raced initially in a 23foot Levi and then a 31 foot Bertram

In 1976 I was British class II champion Navigator.

I took a break from Racing, (apart from the RMYC Cancer Charity race in the Hunton 23 prototype) in 1979 to establish Hunton Powerboats.

As I had lapped the current British Cruiser campion in that race, in 1980 his Sponsor, Splashdown bought a 23  and won the championship that year and again in 1981.

I restarted racing in 1982 when the RYA introduced an additional class for larger more powerful boats.

We competed every year until 1987, when we switched to Class II.

At the same time we sold many boats to other teams, dominating the Cruiser classes during the 80’s during this period.

These aren’t all the race boats Hunton built but the most successful teams;
